DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar! On Saturday\, February 10\, 2024\, from noon-2pm\, we are inviting everyone to join us in welcoming the Lunar New Year at the Karuna Buddhist Center. Our center\, located at 423 S. 4th Ave. in downtown Ann Arbor\, is a peaceful sanctuary amid the bustle of daily life. \nThis Lunar New Year\, we have much to celebrate: Our spiritual teacher\, Ven. Khenpo Tshering Chophel\, moved to Ann Arbor permanently in 2023 to serve as full-time clergy for Karuna Buddhist Center. This Open House is our first opportunity to introduce him to the general public. Khenpo Chophel’s spiritual guidance and teachings have been instrumental in the development of our center and now that he is here in person\, we look forward to his leadership during our next chapter. \nThe festivities will begin with prayers for auspiciousness and prosperity in the Dragon Year. Visitors will have the opportunity to offer prayer lamps and receiving blessings from Khenpo Chophel. This is a great opportunity to meet our members and learn about the center and our ongoing programs. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
